It is my pleasure to inform you that $name has been selected as one of the Directors to be included in SHOOT's 21st Annual New Directors Showcase. We will be including an up-to-two minute excerpt from ' $entry_name ' on the 2023 New Directors Showcase Reel. (Note: 'Private:' in your video title means only SHOOT staff can see your entry video)
PLEASE keep this great news under wraps until we officially release the names of the directors chosen for the Showcase in a special industry publicity release in early October.
It's "Top Secret" until then -- No emails, social media, etc.!! (Since a director will be eliminated from the Showcase if they cannot provide the "profile" info or "final video" requested below by deadline, we'll have no choice but to eliminate the director from the Showcase; that is why it's very important that the directors are NOT announced/promoted until we're ready to announce -- it will save a director embarrassment later.)

1. SELECTED PIECE OF WORK FOR THE REEL--FINAL VERSION NEEDED!!
Final version of selected work MUST be uploaded by Wednesday, September 27th 9:00PM ET
We're on a tight deadline to compile the final NDS Reel so please read carefully... **You MUST now upload a copy of the piece of work '$name' in the format listed below. If the selected work is longer than 2 minutes, you MUST now provide an excerpt that is a maximum of two minutes. If longer, we will edit it to two minutes. Do not include in the video any opening/closing credits that show your name, production company name, credits, titles, awards, etc --JUST THE ONE PIECE OF WORK UP TO TWO MINUTES. (for longform work, it is okay to instead provide an up-to-two-minute trailer--trailers can have logos, etc.)
WHAT TO UPLOAD:
- Apple ProRes Quicktime 422 in native standard
(Premiere can also output this with a codec you can download from Adobe)
- 1920x1080
- For Picture: 29.97fps is preferable (23.97fps is ok)
- For Audio: .wav 24 bit /48khz is preferred (basically we want full-res audio)

2. FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE ASAP ON OUR ONLINE FORM!!
Your profile responses, headshot & other required info MUST be uploaded to SHOOT by Wednesday, September 27th 9:00PM ET
The profiles in full version will appear along with the work we will be screening on our special SHOOT New Directors Showcase website that will go live on October 27th and stay live until the next year's NDS Reel takes its place. And, as part of the editorial content in SHOOT’s Oct/Nov New Directors Showcase Print & PDF Issue, we will publish a mini-version of each director's profile in the Showcase. The PDF version of the issue will be posted on SHOOTonline for 50,000+ unique monthly visitors to view/download and will be emailed to 22,000 opt-in subscribers. We'll also send out a special SHOOT "Meet the NDS Class of 2023" email blast with headshots & links to all the profiles!

The selected Showcase director should access the online form as soon as possible and provide their responses, upload high res 300dpi headshot and provide contact information as requested on the form. DEADLINE - IMPORTANT: If we do not have all the profile information by the Wednesday, September 27th 9:00PM ET deadline, we'll have no choice but to eliminate the director from the Showcase.
