Airbnb ‘Fort’
This is a spec commercial conceptualized and executed to fit into the tone of Airbnb’s recent marketing. They are a brand that normalizes things like same sex marriage in their advertising – I love that and wanted to tell my own version of a modern family in today’s society. The story is simply about parents making their child feel comfortable in a new space, rather than a commercial about ‘gay parents’. The parents in this spot just happen to be two men and that takes a back seat to the little girl’s arc. My favorite kind of advertising and story telling is when it’s not in your face, but still feels like something fresh and reflective of our current world.
