Thank you for entering $name in SHOOT's 2023 21st Annual New Directors Search.

I'm sorry that we don't have the news you were hoping for. After multiple rounds of careful review of every piece of work entered in this year’s search, the final showcase has been selected and your submission/s did not make the final cut.  We greatly enjoyed your work but with so much strong work entered, it is extremely difficult to make the final selections. We take painstaking care reviewing all work over and over to narrow down the field and unfortunately there's always a great deal of strong work such as yours that does not make the final reel because there are only so many slots.

We hope that you will stay in touch with SHOOT as we are always on the lookout for great new work to bring to our readers’ attention on SHOOTonline and in the SHOOT>e.dition and SHOOT Magazine.  We mean it; we're not just saying it!   When you have great new work that you would like to submit to SHOOT for editorial consideration, please email link to the work with brief description, credits, date completed, when/where it is appearing or will  appear and any unique challenges involved in the work to rgriefer@shootonline.com and rgoldrich@shootonline.com.  We will be happy to consider it for the screenwork section on SHOOTonline where we showcase new work.

The 21st Annual New Directors Showcase reel will make its debut on our special New Directors site at https://nds.shootonline.com on October 27th.
