1) What was your first professionally directed work and when was it?

My first professional work was my own project Ost Boys. It is a web series which is rather popular in Germany and has now 1 million subscribers on Instagram and 800.000k on YouTube.

2) How did you get into directing?

A friend of mine bought a camera and we just started to film our funny stories.

3) What is your most recent project?

Ost Boys. Youtube channel.

4) What is the best part of being a director?

I love directing because you can bring the pictures from your head to the screen.

5) What is the worst part of being a director?

Stress and uncertainty

6) What is your current career focus: commercials and branded content, TV movies? Do you plan to specialize in a particular genre–comedy, drama, visual effects, etc.?

My current career focus is my new YouTube Channel Berlin Psycho.

7) Have you a mentor and if so, who is that person (or persons) and what has been the lesson learned from that mentoring which resonates with you?

My friends.

8) Who is your favorite director and why?

Martin Scorsese, Sergey Balabanov, Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie I like them because you can watch their movies more than once.

9) What is your favorite movie? Your favorite television/online program? Your favorite commercial or branded content?

The most important movie is Snatch. It changed my life. After watching that movie I decided I want to make films. I don’t watch TV, but I watch YouTube. There some very cool Russian journalists who make really good content on that platform.

10) Tell us about your background (i.e., where did you grow up? Past jobs?)

I grew up in the ‘90s in Odessa, Ukraine. It was a hard time for our country. I saw the beginning of capitalism in our country. I am very thankful I could see that time. After finishing my film school I earned money with YouTube.
